I have one purpose, and that is to love

“I don't always knew where this life is going. I can't see the end of the road, but here is the great part: Courage is not about knowing the path. It is about taking the first step. It is about Peter getting out of the boat, stepping out onto the water with complete faith that Jesus will not let him drown.”
― Katie J. Davis

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit

The purpose of missions and going to third world countries is simple. We complicate it as Americas, thinking we have to do the right thing, say the right thing, wear the right thing. NO. It's simple.

God will accept you and save you, if you truly believe this and tell it to others. Romans 10:10

The first part is easy, we accept Jesus into our hearts and experience grace while we forget the second part.

And how can anyone tell them without being sent by the Lord? The scriptures say it is a beautiful sight to see even the feet of someone coming to preach the good news. Romans 10:15

Friends, I challenge you to share your experience with someone today. Love someone today, I mean really love them, show them Christ-like love. That is why we were called to this earth.

Why I wrote this and why are you reading this? I wrote it because it was put on my heart and you are reading it because I am going to post this to every social media site I have. I am about 2 months shy of leaving to beautiful Hawaii and an still in financial need, please consider partnering with me in prayer or donating. If you have any questions I would love to grab coffee or tea with you! Feel free to contact me, even blow up my phone, (253-709-7005) Alliemetcalf7@yahoo.com

I seriously love each and every one of you who have contributed or prayed for me, I could not do this alone. You guys are all awesome.

Love,

This is a good one guys, I promise

Hello everyone, it's me..again. My name is Allie Metcalf, I am a month shy of being 20. I live with my two lovely parents and many siblings in Lake Tapps, Washington. As some of you know, or for some of you that keep up with my blog, thank you mom, last September.. like in 2011 I went to Honolulu Hawaii for 3 months to do a DTS, discipleship training school with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) Youth With A Mission is an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Our purpose is simply to know God and to make Him known.

Anyway, after that I went to Nepal for a 2 1/2 month outreach. With my team we did a lot of trekking to villages, shared the gospel with many people, saw Jesus heal people and got to truly live like the 12 disciples did in the Gospels. So mind blown by what Jesus can do when you submit to Him! I learned so much in the 6 month period. God is so faithful I can never deny that now. The Lord has completely restored me and made me new.

So why am I writing about this..oh yeah because I am soon to depart for another journey! This coming April I have prayed and decided to head back to YWAM Honolulu and DTS staff. It's like getting to do what I love over and over again for the next 2 years! Yes I said 2 years, that is my commitment, and I couldn't be more stoked about it!

If you guys would like to see pictures of where I will be residing come April or want to know more about YWAM Honolulu I invite you to click this link. My new home

Here is the hard part for me, asking my peers for help.
I am still in need of financial help
Monthly staff fees: $250
2 year commitment

If all my facebook friends gave me $5.82 I would have $6,000!!! That is nuts! That is one trip to starbucks, $5.82 not $6,000....

I am asking YOU and your families to pray about partnering with me and supporting me. Also, if you supply your address (home or email) I will be sending treats and a newsletter once a month to show my thankfulness and of course so you guys know that I am alive and doing well. :)

I am beyond thankful for everyone I encounter! You guys are all so special to me! If you decide to donate here is how: this is a link to my paypal, click here to donate or if you are not tech savvy feel free to shoot me an email or a lovely phone call! Alliemetcalf7@yahoo.com (253)709-7005

Late night thoughts

Submit to God, and you will have peace; then things will go well for you. (NLT) ( Job 22:21 )

Do you ever put your hopes into plans and goals? When things don't work out, you end up grieving over the death of a dream. God wants to give us the desires of our hearts, but we first need to turn them over to Him.

To new beginnings

Hello friends,  as my time here in Washington comes to an end, I am sad to leave but also excited to leave at the same time. I just learned this morning that it was possible to feel both sad, anxious, excited, happy, crazy all at once. As I embark on this journey to Honolulu, I do not have all my finances but I am not worried.

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

Faithful Friends are a Rare Treasure

Proverbs 18:24
There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. (NLT)

When you can't sleep, pray

It's currently 2:19 am Friday January 11,2013 and I cannot for the life of me fall asleep. So I shall blog I don't really know what to blog about but that my friends and readers is nothing new.

I can tell you about the love of Jesus and how much it is radically impacting my life and the people around me. These past few months I have made many new friends and have truly been challenged to love people. I never knew how much you can truly learn just by hanging out with people. I've gotten to hear so many stories and been so encouraged by people and hearing how much Jesus is changing life's here in Puyallup really makes me happy.

My New Years resolution this year is different than it has been in the past years, instead of trying to "get fit" or "be organiZed" I am striving to love Jesus more and love people more. Or start to. Either way I am excited for 2013. A lot of change will be happening this year. Like this weekend I am moving in with my parents to A save money and B I have nowhere else to live haha. Life with Jesus is always fun though.

"If it's not beneficial to God then you are living out your own agenda"

As you all know or if you don't know.. This April I will be leaving Washington, my comfort to Honolulu Hawaii back to YWAM (youth with a mission) where I will begin my journey with Jesus for 2 years. I am excited/nervous/prepared/happy/crazy feeling/what am I say anymore.

God has called me to Honolulu and I can't wait.

Also doesn't matter where He calls you. Could be India, could be your hometown, don't ever think what God wants you to do for His kingdom is small, because you are so important and precious to Him. I believe it.

Love, Allie
