My support letter!

YWAM_20Logo_20300dpi.jpeg

Dear friends and family,

My adventures with Jesus continue! As most of you know last September I spent 3 months in Honolulu Hawaii at the YWAM (youth with a mission) base doing a DTS (discipleship training school) where I was learning more about the bible and growing a deeper relationship with Jesus and learning more about world missions. After that I spent 2 ½ months in Nepal sharing the gospel and learning what it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus. My world was completely changed, I asked God to break my heart for what breaks His and He did. He gave me a heart for missions.

This coming April I am heading back to YWAM Honolulu to DTS staff and lead outreach teams to Asia. YWAM is an organization dedicated to knowing God and making him known. It equips young people to go into the nations and share the gospel. During my DTS I was stretched, I grew so much in that 6-month time. I learned the value of the gospel, I learned and truly felt the love of Jesus. Jesus gave me a burning passion for injustice in other countries, while in Nepal was did a lot of work with the human trafficking and God has really put that on my heart to continue working with that cause.

I have a 2 year commitment to Honolulu as staff, my role as DTS staff with be, watching students grow and learn, praying and encouraging students as they fall more in love with Jesus and leading outreach teams to Asia. I am writing you this letter to inform you that I will be needing not only financial support but spiritual and mental support. In my DTS the Lord provided over $2,000 for me in such a short amount of time. I have complete faith in Him that He will do it again. I am asking you to partner with me in anyway you can, with prayer, encouraging words or your finances. My staff fees are $250 a month. Anything helps, I am confident in Gods calling on my life and I am so excited for this journey. Also know if you would like to keep up with my adventure I have a blog I update regularly, I have email, a phone, I can write a monthly “newsletter” know that however you support me I will keep you updated!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and being a part of this with me, here is all my contact information and feel free if you have any questions about YWAM, what I will be doing or anything to ask away! I am an open book!

Inspired to write again

Hey it has been a really long time since i am updated my blog, I know I start each post lately like that but hey I do what I can.

These past few months have been really good for me, lots of growing and being stretched by God. He has truly blessed me with so much and it took me a while to realize all that I have.

A small update on my life and some thoughts; these past few months I have been living in Puyallup and serving at my amazing church Puyallup Foursquare, love the house of the Lord. I have been discipling and being discipled and growing and learning so much recently! I love it.

I have prayed and made my next BIG life decision, (drum roll please)....................

April 2013 I will be returning to YWAM (youth with a mission) Honolulu as DTS staff, yes that is a big commitment but I strongly feel called there by the Lord and I want to obey Him. I will be sending out a letter explaining in detail my grand plan, well His grand plan for my life. If anyone is even reading this and would like to keep up with my adventures feel free to shoot me your address or email and I will keep you updated. :)

The Lord is good and faithful.

THE WORLDS REJECTION = GODS PROTECTION

It has been a while since I have blogged, but so much has been going on these past few weeks. I have been working for a couple families nannying and such, doing some house sitting jobs and modeling jobs, anything to get me to Nepal!!! Umh, I am not sure what the meaning or title of this blog post means but God told me to blog and so blog I shall.

Lately God has really been teaching me grace, daily I am drowning in grace, I am learning to love and have more compassion for people in America, it is so easy to love people you meet on mission trips and to do the right thing when you are in a different country...coming back to America and living a disciplined life for Jesus is tough but that is my choice. Doing what God wants me to do instead of what society is what I choose.

Fail to do your quiet time and reap a bad day

Hey folks, this morning I woke up sad and not feeling well, then I was skyping my dear friend Rachael and she asked me one question, "Allie did you do your quiet time with Jesus today?" I said....no. Then she forced me to read Romans 6. So I did.

SO crazy that I serve a living God who pursues me daily and wants me to spend time in His word.

A post worth reading!

Heart of a Revivalist- Circuit Riders (Andy Byrd & Brian Brennt)

My goodness, as humans we are created to die for something! That something is Jesus!

Our generation needs to stop believing these lies of the enemy that we aren't good enough and that we don't carry revival! This generation heavily carries revival!!! Each and every one of us, we carry revival in our homes, in our schools, in America and we are created to die for something!

This has nothing to do with important thing..

Me just being girly and setting goals for myself!

I have made a list of DIY projects to keep me from going crazy (literally) so for the next few months I will be learning how to cut hair, use a sewing machine, cook, and some other things! I shall post pictures of my creations as they are created.

Hugs,

Give Me Dove's Eyes-Sarah Edwards

So i have been back in Washington officially one week, in the last week I have discovered how much God truly loves people, and how important it is to not only love the strangers you meet but to love the very people around you. I was reading Philippians 1-3 and it made me realized some things. Do i consider others better than myself and look at other peoples interests? As Christians we are to have His attitude of self-sacrificing humility and love for others, to take on the nature of humble servant.

Instead of being self-centered become Christ-centered.

Back in America

I'm home! Well not exactly, I'm still in Hawaii, one day I will make it back to the 253...but until then I am here in Hawaii.

I got back from Nepal about a week and a half ago, still feels weird not being in Nepal, I think I left my heart there, anyway...

I just would like to say, THANKYOU to everyone who made it possible to me to do my DTS in Hawaii and outreach in Nepal, such an amazing experience that I haven't quite yet been able to put into words. In these past 6 months I have made incredible life long friendships with people all around the world, gone to crazy places, developed a deep and intimate relationship with Jesus, ah the list goes on. To my supporters, a thank you card is coming your way/coffee date with me to express my gratitude.

ps-thank you for all the prayer and support while my mom is in the hospital, I believe Jesus is healing her and I will be back in Washington in about a week! I will miss YWAM Honolulu, but...my time here isn't done and I will return shortly...

I give you.....an update!

हेल्लो फ़्रिएन्द्स एंड फमिली इ मिस्स यौ!
(I just said, hello friends and family i miss you in Nepali script)

Anyway, what to say, so much has been happening, brief description of outreach thus far:
no showers, dahl bhot everyday, paragliding, snuggling with Nadine every night, watching movies on my tiny iPod, junk internet cafes, cookies, seeing God move in crazy ways, awesome church services, open airs, trekking to villages overnight, teaching people about Jesus, awkward moments with your outreach family, amazing black tea every morning, meeting other YWAMers from all around the world, missing your family, wearing the same thing everyday, growing closer to Jesus, seeing Jesus heal people, ahg I could go on for days but I won't.

The past few weeks have been great! They are going by so fast! I can't believe in just a few weeks I will be back in Washington! Nepal is awesome, there are 12 YWAM teams here right now, can you say revival in Nepal? Yes. Please and thank you. Last week we went to a village called Gorka, we lead a mini conference thing where my team split up and taught on different topics, Becca and I taught on quiet time with God, it was intimidating speaking to over 60 Nepalis in a church but, God gives you the strength to do anything!

I've been reading through Isaiah through out outreach almost done! Such an amazing book.

We went on our last village/trekking adventure yesterday, hiked up to some mountain village place for a house fellowship where i spoke on abiding in Jesus, I love John 15.

Here are some quotes I decided to live by and love: "ministry is simply loving the person in front of you." "missions are intended to be the Sermon on the Mount on Earth." "when you seek first the riches of heaven God also entrusts you with those on Earth." All from the book Compelled by Love by Heidi Baker. I have such a different view on The Beatitudes and missions in general. Missions aren't in just third world countries like Nepal, they are everywhere. I just can't wait for America, and good coffee..

I can't wait to come back to America, I am consumed by Jesus. Oh my gosh I went paragliding, it was so amazing!!!!! I literally ran off a cliff, such amazing views of the mountains up there! So fun!! My blog posts never make sense, sorry again, only a few more!!!

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten we belong to each other. -Mother Teresa, I love her.

Anyway, we leave Pokhara the 10th, (Nadine's birthday!) and we will be doing 3 hours of prayer and intercession in the morning and then go out and do friendship evangelism or anything we feel like God wants us to do. Then debrief starts the day after my birthday (16th) and we leave Kathmandu, Nepal the 20th!!! We have lots of layovers but we should be arriving in Honolulu, Hawaii the 21st!! Can't wait to see you mommy, Blakey, auntie, and my YWAM family!!!

Longish, but random. I serve an amazing God

First off I wanna say THANKYOU to anyone who actually takes time to read my blog, I made it with no intentions of it actually to be read by anyone but my mom and my friend Rachael who is in the Philiphines right now. So thank you!!

For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be. (somewhere in Matthew) I am loving the gospels so much right now!! It's like direct words from Jesus, also I am reading Compelled By Love by Heidi Baker, Mozabique, Africa is my next stop. Anyway, I forget where I was going with this, but reading the gospel and reading those pretty red words from Jesus is like He is directly giving me directions in Nepal, He says go out and pray for the sick, make disciples and stuff He means it! And you don't have to go to another country to do it! You can pray for a sick person, take someone out to coffee and chat with them, worship God anywhere!!

Sorry that my post are never too detailed, sometimes it takes too long to collect my thoughts and make them into somewhat understandable sentences.

Pohkara has been amazing. My team and I are staying at the YWAM base here and it is beautiful. I wake up and watch the actual sunrise, (while being in YWAM it is impossible to sleep in) especially when you are surrounded my giant mountains and goats and what not! Anyway, the sunrises here are beautiful, breath taking some might say. I have amazing quiet times with God, I actually love to read the bible now. It's awesome. God is awesome. Quiet times with Him are waaay more important than I thought.

Ministry here is so fun, little kids everywhere!! We have so many wonderful oportunities, doing lots of open airs, prayer walks and village ministry. Such a blessing to be here. It's crazy, God doesn't even need my help in sharing His word but He called me here, He chose me to help! So crazy, we serve such an amazing God.

The food here, dahl bhot for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I'll never get tired of it. ;) let's just say, I miss icecream...

Eastern culture is different in every way possible from western culture, I absolutely love it though! Can't believe it's almost over though!! Anyone want to come to Nepal with me in the near future??

I have read a few books while being here, LOTS of the bible, it's sweet. And I just recently realized everything I learned in lecture phase I am applying here!

Oh and Sunday around 10am I am going to an Internet cafe with skype so Saturday night your time you (anyone) should skype me! :)

Love,

Allie & Blanky

SO sorry for not updating sooner!!!

Hello family, friends, and people reading my blog,

Gosh so much has gone on I don't even know where to start! I'm sorry I haven't updated my blog in a while, I promise it is because I have been busy, and well...being in Nepal it's hard to find internet.

Since my last update my team and I have traveled lots! The day after the New Year we left Kathmandu area and took a micro (private bus thing) to Nuwakot which took roughly 7 hours! Nuwakot was my favorite place by far!! We stayed in a pretty snazzzy hotel! ;)

Read this article below

Nepal is a source country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation and involuntary servitude. Children are trafficked within the country and to India and the Middle East for commercial sexual exploitation or forced marriage, as well as to India and within the country for involuntary servitude as domestic servants, circus entertainers, factory workers, or beggars. NGOs working on trafficking issues report an increase in both transnational and domestic trafficking during the reporting period, although a lack of reliable statistics makes the problem difficult to quantify. NGOs estimate that 10,000 to 15,000 Nepali women and girls are trafficked to India annually, while 7,500 children are trafficked domestically for commercial sexual exploitation. In many cases, relatives or acquaintances facilitated the trafficking of women and young girls into sexual exploitation. - U.S. State Dept Trafficking in Persons Report, June, 2009

The district of Nuwakot where we stayed for 2 weeks was the highest percentage of women and children being taken from. We did a lot of prayer and intercession for these victims and the men. We also did a lot of friendship evangelism and children ministry (teaching english, songs, dancing and dramas.) The children there are so beautiful and sweet, I wanted to keep them all! Don't worry mom, I am taking lots of pictures for your little slide show you will create when I get home. :)

God is sooooo good, I cannot put into words how awesome He is and how much He is moving in Nepal!

Uhm, sorry if this post is random or isn't spelt correctly, I am sitting in an internet cafe with Nadine and the keyboard is crazy!! Plus I am in a hurry, the power is off for 14 hours of the day here!

Where is here might you ask? Yesterday we took a 4 hour public bus ride to Mongol (I don't know if that's right) to get onto a micro for 4 more hours to our second to last destination on this outreach, Pokhara. Look it this town, it's so beautiful and we are really close to Everest! This is a really touristy spot in Nepal so I have seen other white people!!!!

Today, Nadine and I found Oreos....man I miss snacks from home hahahh! Oh, I also miss my friends and family A LOT!! I can't wait to come home to my bed and have my mommy cook me spaghetti. :)

My team: we are all finally better! No one at the moment is sick and we are all ready to do lots of trekking in these last few weeks! Thanks for your prayers everyone!

Nepal: Nepal is awesome, I am torn, I am sad to leave, but I am sad to be away from home. The people in Nepal are so beautiful and friendly, it is so nice to walk up to a store and just start talking to people and they are so friendly back, and they always give you tea!!!! I'm sure going to miss that.

This is a random post, like i said I am at an internet cafe and the power is always off so I will try to update my blog again! We are here doing a lot of trekking and village ministry in Pokhara!!!!

I miss you all and love you lots!!!
